Chief Executive Officer, Activate
Dr. Cyrus Wadia (he/him), chief executive officer of Activate, is a leader in scaling sustainability. Most recently, Wadia worked to benefit customers and the planet as Amazon’s director of worldwide product sustainability, raising the sustainability standards in online retail, and as vice president of sustainable business & innovation at Nike.
During the Obama administration, he served in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy as Assistant Director of Clean Energy and Materials Research and Development, where he mobilized over $1 billion toward cutting-edge materials science innovation and pioneered the nation’s first policies around critical minerals.
With a longstanding interest in clean technology, Wadia also has experience as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company, a senior program officer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and the founding co-director of the Haas School of Business Clean Tech to Market initiative. Wadia holds a Ph.D. in energy and resources from UC Berkeley and an M.S. in chemical engineering from MIT.
