Each year at Climate Week NYC, Woodwell Climate experts and staff join business leaders, political change makers, local decision makers and civil society representatives from all over the world to strengthen connections, explore new possibilities, and emphasize that it’s time for climate action. Our researchers will be co-hosting and participating in multiple events throughout the week focused on climate change impacts and solutions.

Mobilizing Finance and Science: Nature-Based Climate Solutions for the Brazilian Amazon

The J.M. Kaplan Fund, 71 W 23rd St #903

Woodwell Climate scientists, alongside panelists from Brazil’s leading agricultural sectors, will outline the challenges posed by climate change to crop productivity and biomass in tropical forests. They will discuss the obstacles to achieving sustainable production in Brazil and highlight case studies that demonstrate the critical need for private sector involvement in creating value through conservation. To conclude the event, ECCON and Woodwell Climate will present potential solutions that could help bridge this gap—PES Carbonflor and the Landscape Capital Index.
